Big announcement if you don't know already! A free conference is happening with FamilySearch in Ogden, Utah on Saturday Sept 12, 2015. If you live close by, you should definitely consider going! And the best part? It's FREE! This conference has a great line up of classes which include some computer labs, a chance to work one on one with experts for those tough questions, and door prizes.
Information packets are available at 7:45 am and door prizes are drawn for at 4:15 pm. If you can't take the whole day off, just come for what you can. Might as well, right? Remember, its free! I know I'm excited for this because it will be my first official conference! I have attended classes and seminars but this is the first all day conference I will have gone to. I will report how it went afterward.
FamilySearch introduces the conference as:
"Of Roots and Branches - Saturday September 12, 2015 in the Shepherd Union building on the Weber State University campus in Ogden, Utah
This year's conference is again made possible by WSU College of Social & Behavorial Sciences Department of History and the Ogden FamilySearch Library.
We will be able to offer over 65 classes which will be able to be taught to over 1,000 participants. Because WSU offers their facilities at no charge, there will be NO charge for the classes or for parking on campus."

Don't live in the area or can't take the day off? There are a lot of conferences and webinars out there. Dick Eastman's online genealogical newsletter has a great calendar of upcoming conferences and events in genealogy. See if you could make it to one of those.
I hope to see you in Ogden!
